My Aging Mailbox still standing strong.
It is in bad shape don’t get me wrong.
Rusted – Battered – Tilted – Old,
heat in Summers – Winters cold.
Been struck by bats – guess as the ball?
How long has it stood – just can’t recall?
The looks to me don’t matter much,
that it still works just Double Dutch.
No reason now for it to be fired,
just for looking forlorn and tired.
I’ll keep it there a few years more,
‘til Drones drop mail at my front door.
