America is great – to that there’s no doubt.
Yet you might not know what I’m talking about.
It’s not for the splendors though they are quite plenty.
It’s not for the riches though there are so many.
It’s not for the history we all hold so dear.
It’s not for the pretzels the bars or the beer.
It’s Freedom of Speech – I’m thinking of now.
It’s things I’ve heard lately that make me say “Wow!”
There’s people like Rush and Bill and much more.
Who say outrageous things and aren’t shown the door.
Some call it slander – some call it wit.
But here they can speak and not censored for it.
