A Mulligan

A memory – a place in time, a frozen image in my mind. Haunting now in older years, dredging out unwanted fears. Youthful dreams that were not met, wishing age could be reset. So I could have a Mulligan, and grow once more into a man.

An Old Friend

I found and old friend – from way long ago, connecting again and getting to know, how we evolved from much younger years, and sharing the stories of some of our peers. He was a good friend – a best one for sure, with ongoing time we still will endure. Whatever’s to come – he’ll … Read moreAn Old Friend

Don’t throw us Out

Ripped – tattered – weathered – torn, in this condition some might scorn. Many years since it’s been sold, now it lays here being OLD! Tape it up or throw away? Its final fate should we delay? Impossible to reinvent, though can it be still relevant? Perhaps in life this is the case, to string … Read moreDon’t throw us Out

When it’s My Time

People come And people Go, now it’s People that I Know. Dying off at Record Pace, reality that’s Tough to Face. Wonder when it’ll Be my Turn, the Time and Place I cannot Spurn. Hope I leave with Grace and Class, and Someone’s left to Mow my Grass.

The Weather

Weather is a wonderment, often causing discontent. Changes plans and other things, yet at times pure joy it brings. Forecasts we wait patiently, but the truth is basically, I can often just learn more, yes, by looking out my door.

My Coffee Mug

Comfort in my coffee mug, steaming Java down I chug. Greatest way to start the day, is there any other way? This old mug has been my friend, and will be until the end. Many times its been worth more, than I paid at discount’s store.

Dogs are Better

Cats are great but Dogs are better, from Havanese to English Setter. Be your pal no matter what, pedigree or just a mutt. Fetch your news or chase a ball, they’re here to please and that’s not all. Some might say that it’s just schmaltz, but they love you despite your faults.

Big Words

Using big words just might impress, those who steer towards that excess. For some it’s just plain meaningless, I stand with them I must confess. For you who doubt my acumen, I’ll rhyme with the word albumin. To me that’s just plain alien, This ain’t Sesquipedalian.

I miss my Bench Seat

Riding in my bucket seats, no where near a bench it beats. Was a time when my old wreck, did me proud in my young trek. Nothing better than a miss, sitting close so we could kiss. Snuggled near and dragging main, keep those memories in my brain.
