Pancakes for my Granddaughter

A gourmet cook I am not,
but in one place I have a slot.
Whip the batter everywhere,
using basic kitchenware.

Create faces on the plate,
her smiles for me encapsulate,
the reasons why I love her so,
hope these pancakes let her know.
