Our Granddaughter ROCKS singing “Barracuda”

Our granddaughter – who is in the 8th grade – attended a rock (music) camp for 5 days.  It is fairly recently that she showed an interest in singing. The camp is for 7 to 18-year olds, and those attending, are broken into three rock groups.  Our granddaughter’s group consisted of seven guitarists, one drummer, and our granddaughter was the sole vocalist (they named their band “Tugboat City”).  This is only the second time that she was the lone vocalist, on stage, and the first-time singing rock songs – plus, with a band of any kind.  They practiced (3 hours per day) all five days – culminating with a concert on Friday evening.  The band played three songs with our granddaughter singing in all three numbers. I know nothing about music – but one of their songs was “Barracuda” made famous by “Heart.”  I always enjoyed Heart’s music – especially the piercing voice of Ann Wilson.  I was amazed – that in her first experience with rock – our granddaughter did an amazing job with this difficult song.  All of the performance videos were just released.  If you would like to see the “Barracuda” performance – please take a moment to view our granddaughter’s rendition in the YouTube video below.  We are soooooo very proud of her!!!!!
