Then & Now

(1975) & (2021)

Trained for War but Never Went,
Stateside where my Time was Spent
Nightmares up Until this Day,
Such a Baby have to Say.

I was Drafted – Did not Run,
Hell for Some – Just Begun.
Thankful didn’t Have to Kill,
Not sure if I’d Have the Will.

Volunteered to Train me More,
Never left a U.S. Shore.
Some might Call a Moral Sin,
Haunted – Still – what Might have Been.

As back Then and To this Day,
Poor decisions Have to Say.
Then & Now – Some might See,
People Perished Needlessly.

Been a While since Did my Tour,
Now same End We must Endure.
As back Then I Wonder Why,
That so Many had To Die?
