Don’t Assume

I’ve been Hitched for Fifty-two
and Won’t tell You what to Do.
Though I’ll give You some Advice,
just Because I’m awful Nice.

Young Folks whom I’m shooting For,
yet Not being a Mentor.
These days Maybe things have Changed,
basics Have not Rearranged.

If you’ve Got a Place to Go,
perhaps Your Other doesn’t Know.
Don’t Assume the Status Quo,
to Come with You – They will say No.

Invite them, first, To come Along,
in the End it Won’t be Wrong.
When return You’ll know the Score,
will be Peace and Not a War.
